Shiphrah Fepulea'i, or "Pastor Shiph" as her church members know her, comes from a sturdy stock of Well Women. Her mother taught Pastor Shiph to be a lifelong learner at the feet of Jesus and enjoy being made well there. Her grandmother exemplified that formal schooling, or the lack of it, doesn't have to get in...

"The Jesus Quilt"
Carolyn Smith, retired junior high English/history teacher and former missionary to Thailand, has captivated audiences around the world with her insightful telling of Bible stories. Retirement freed her to follow her passion for biblical research to a new level. She is the author of the Stones of Gilgal, a series of biblical novels about Othniel and his contemporaries as young biblical characters coming of age in the time of Joshua. She is currently working on “the rest of the story.”
Carolyn enjoys traveling, especially when it allows her to spend time with her four children and five grandchildren, but truly cherishes quiet days at the home she shares with her husband of fifty plus years on a beautiful, wooded mountaintop in Sonora. When not studying, writing, teaching Bible classes, or otherwise volunteering at her church, she enjoys working in her large flower-filled yard or taking walks with the two energetic dogs who keep deer from devouring her roses.
When Jesus met two broken-hearted disciples on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection, “beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” (Luke 24:27) The themes and patterns introduced in simple form in the opening books of the Bible are developed and repeated with greater complexity throughout the following stories, poetry and prophecies. Each quilt piece tells its own story, but the Designer has crafted one complex, artful design from all those diverse patterns, telling one overarching story—the story of Messiah Jesus. Carolyn invites you to join her in learning to see those patterns and discover the beautiful design of Jesus’ Family Quilt.

“Joyful Believers”
From a very young age Joy Wolfe has been drawn to elderly people. She worked in an assisted living facility for several years and was sad to see how lonely and disappointed the residents were when they didn’t have visitors. One of Joy’s hobbies is creating greeting cards, though they seldom get mailed out. Maybe these handmade cards and a visit would cheer up her friends.
Although tired and retired, through God's definite leading, Joy started a Card Ministry Group near her residence in Redding. She will be sharing how God led her to the senior mobile home park where she resides, how this ministry started, what it does, and how the participants are amazingly blessed. There will be handouts with ideas on how to get your own ministry started. You will be making a card in the seminar. (Don't worry! If you can cut and paste, you can create a beautiful card.)
Joy is a widow, mother of four, and grandma of five. Most of her family live in California. but one son and daughter-in-law are in the Chicago area. Joy plays piano and organ at the Redding Adventist Church on Sabbath and the Anglican Church on Sunday.

Bénie Safari Shyirakera Dushime is a joyful lady who started singing at a very young age. In 2016, she began voice lessons at the University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, Kenya, and was regularly featured as a soloist in the university choir. In 2019, Safari transferred to Andrews University to complete a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics, but she couldn’t forget her love for music. She decided to add a B.A. in Music and was featured in a performance with the Andrews University Symphony Orchestra as a winner of the 2021-22 Young Artist Competition. In 2023, Safari joined the Adventist Health Mendocino Coast Hospital family in Fort Bragg, where she currently works as a Registered Dietitian. She continues to be a passionate performer in both choral settings and solo roles and an active praise and worship leader at the Adventist church in Fort Bragg. She loves sharing her gift wherever she goes to the glory of God.
Some have thought of it, many have asked for it, and now God is making it possible—the Leoni Meadow Women’s Retreat Choir. Join us for our first edition this year and let’s make beautiful music together in honor and praise to God. In this workshop, led by the Holy Spirit and the heavenly host, we will learn a song and a few tips that you can carry with you to spark the joy of singing in others' lives. All are welcome! Whether you are a professional singer, an amateur, or simply enjoy the sense of togetherness, come and let us rejoice in simple melodies. Our choral song for this retreat is "EXCUSELESS" by Stephan Manders. Safari and Lorian, our accompanist, have a history of leading praise teams together, and you will be blessed by this duo if you choose to join. See you there, friends. Give no excuses!

Sharon is a Women’s Health, Family Practice and Gynecologic Nurse Practitioner. She continues to be fascinated by that amazing creation called “The Human Body” that, when treated properly, was designed to heal itself! Sharon continues to help in Medical Mission projects and Health screening and lecturing.
Sharon is delighted to share with you some key components of vibrant health, foods that fight disease and common ailments, and other natural remedies. Her seminar will be fairly fast-paced because of time limitations, but we should have a great time learning new things and hopefully motivating further study, to serve yourself and others. Sharon will provide you with a good resource list for additional learning. God will bless your efforts and provide divine appointments for you to use your new skills!
